Feasibility Studies of Rainwater Harvesting System for Ablution Purposes

For countries with an abundance of rain, there is definite potential to implement a rainwater harvesting system for different applications. This paper describes feasibility studies open-pond ablution purposes, analysing the quality harvested and formulating model suitable performance measures. The formulated can be used analyse in any locality by inputting local meteorological data. Quality analysis has shown that safely albeit slightly acidic pH below 6.5. At depth 1.0 m using current pond configuration mosque, reliability 62.5% (228 days per year), amount water saved 345 m3, which 60.7% demand. It been surface area 60–70 m2 provides optimum saving, more savings expected economical usage during ablution. These results indicate implementing purposes religious institutions help curb shortage crisis.
